Fees, Rebates, and Policies at True You Psychology

  • Consultation Fees

We aim for service accessibility by ensuring our fees remain below the recommended fee of $318 as set out by APS (Australian Psychological Society). Our fee structure is as follows:

Initial appointment fee is $290 (Standard times)/$310 (After-hours)

Subsequent appointments are $280 (Standard times) or $300 (After-hours).

All sessions are 60 minutes which allows for 50 minutes of contact time and 10 minutes for completion of clinical documentation and letters to your referrer.

After Hours fee applies for Public Holiday/Saturday appointments and appointments starting before 9am or after 4pm on weekdays.

Supervision~One hour supervision (online) is $250 (gst. incl.)

  • Rebates and Funding

If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible a Medicare rebate of $98.95 to a limit of 10 rebates each calendar year.

    We do not offer bulk-billing.

Private Health: Please check directly with your health fund providers to what rebate you may be eligible for, as this will vary across providers. The item number is ‘200’.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to claim both a Medicare rebate and a health fund rebate for the same appointment.

We do not accept third party payees (e.g., NDIS, Open Arms/DVA, Work Cover, Victims Services) and we are unable to complete medico-legal reports.

  • Cancellation Policy

Booking an appointment means that we’ve reserved a dedicated a one-hour block of time for you, and if you cancel late, it often means that this time cannot be offered to others. This results in a financial impact on the practice, as room rent and other operational costs still need to be covered.

Therefore, we request a minimum of 48 business-hours notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

If cancellation occurs less than 24 business-hours notice, or in the case of non-attendance, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100% of the session fee.

Appointments which are cancelled within the 24 to 48 hours will incur a fee of 50% of the session total.

Cancellation fees for not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Your cooperation with this is very much appreciated, so that enough notice is provided for any cancelled appointments can be allocated to other clients on the waiting list.
