  • No, you do not need a doctor’s referral in order to see a psychologist. 

    However, if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate ($89.65 per session), you will need to see your GP and obtain a valid Mental Health Care Plan for psychology sessions prior to your first appointment at True You Psychology. Please bring this along to your first appointment or ask your doctor to email a copy here.

  • The standard fee for a 50-minute session is $210.

    The after-hours fee is $235 and applies for Public Holiday/Saturday appointments and appointments starting before 9am or at 5pm or later on weekdays.

    If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible a Medicare rebate of $93.35 per session, to a limit of 10 rebates each calendar year.

    We do not offer bulk-billing.

    Please note that a Halaxy processing fee applies.

  • NDIS clients please note we are only taking self-managed NDIS clients due to administrative limitations. In this instance, the client is required to pay the amount owing and present their NDIS management with a copy of their receipt in order to be reimbursed.

  • We request a minimum of 48 business-hours notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

    If cancellation occurs less than 24 business-hours notice, or in the case of non-attendance, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100% of the session fee ($200 or $220 for after-hours appointments) in addition to a Halaxy process fee.

    Your cooperation with this is very much appreciated, so that any cancelled appointments can be allocated to other clients on the waiting list.

  • Your psychologist will discuss this with you in your first session together as each client’s therapeutic needs will differ depending on the nature of their presentation or difficulties.

  • Yes. Please check directly with your health fund providers to what rebate you may be eligible for, as this will vary across providers. The item number is ‘200’. Unfortunately, you will not be able to claim both a Medicare rebate and a health fund rebate for the same appointment.

  • Yes. We offer both phone and interactive video-conferencing sessions via Doxy.me.

    You will need to ensure that the device you are using is fully charged, that you have a good internet connection and that your device is set up in a stable position. In the event that there are technological issues, please have your phone nearby so that your psychologist can call you.

  • Helen does not write court reports.
